About Me:

Kari Magnussen is a board-certified genetic counselor who specializes in pediatrics at Randall Children’s Hospital. Kari received her B.Sc in Cellular and Molecular Biology with minors in Chemistry and Psychology from Mount Royal University in Calgary, Canada. She then moved to New York to complete her graduate training in Human Genetics at Sarah Lawrence College. She is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC), as well as NSGC’s Cancer, Metabolism, and Pediatric Special Interest Groups. Her special interests include pediatric cancer syndromes, muscular dystrophies, and patient advocacy for N-of-1 diagnoses.
