Biography

Dr. Root grew up in northern Illinois and completed his undergraduate studies at Illinois Wesleyan University. He received his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago and went on to complete his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. After working as a Hospitalist in Vancouver, WA for one year, he returned to Chicago to complete his fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Northwestern University.

Dr. Root believes in creating strong partnerships with his patients so that they feel educated and empowered. This allows them to receive the individualized care that they deserve.

In his spare time, Dr. Root enjoys traveling, hiking, music, and cheering on his beloved Chicago Bears, Cubs, and Bulls.
