Originally from Aruba, Hans has a Physical Therapy degree from Ithaca College, NY. He found his way to Portland via the Netherlands where he obtained a B.S. in Physical Education and a Sports Massage degree. After spending over a decade in California where he obtained a clinical masters in Manual Therapy, he joined the rehab team at Meridian Park and currently treats patients with neurological disorders, orthopedic injuries, and overuse/repetitive strain sports injuries. He has also lead classes in ergonomic training for health care providers at Meridian Park, spoken at educational sessions for orthopedic and neuro surgeons on issues ranging from neck and back injuries to total joint replacements. Hans is also fluent in Spanish, German, French, and Dutch.

Hans' sports background and drive to push his own limits of endurance (ultra-marathons) enables him to motivate people to live better and healthier lives. Hans specializes in running related injuries, foot and ankle dysfunction, and trains injured athletes with specialized training workouts. Areas of expertise also include disorders of the spine, lower, and upper extremity. His skills extend to all sports.

He embraces a wellness philosophy that is not only limited to athletes, but believes that every individual can participate in some form of exercise to ensure better health and ultimately feel better. He has recently participated and completed a triple ultra-marathon in Peru, December 2012. He ran a total of 98 miles in 3 days.
