Teen Athlete Cardiac Screening
The TACS program, co-founded in 2006 by the David Heller Foundation and Legacy Health, aims to educate the public about the importance of cardiac screening for young athletes aged 13-19. Screening can detect cardiac conditions such as hypertrophic cardio-myopathy, the most common cause of sudden death in athletes.
Our annual Teen Athlete Cardiac Screening checks students from 13-19 for potential heart problems. The low-cost screening consists of an electrocardiogram (ECG). height, weight, body mass index (BMI) measurements and cardiac physical exam.
