Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center welcomes newest version of da Vinci surgical robot
Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center is the first hospital in the Northwest to feature the newest model of the robotic da Vinci Surgical System.
Surgeons can now perform complex procedures using a minimally invasive approach. As a result of its 3D visualization patients may experience reduced blood loss; less post-operative pain; reduced risk of infection; shorter hospital stay; and less scarring.
"The surgery helps patients get out of the hospital sooner," explains Bruce Andison, M.D., a gynecological surgeon using the system. "Returning patients back to their daily lives more quickly aids in their recovery and their quality of life."
