Dana Gray, PA, and Jonathan Hill, MD, received the 2010 Paragon Award in recognition of an outstanding Physician-PA team. The award, presented by the American Association of Physician Assistants honors a physician-PA team that exemplifies the unique relationship of trust, collegiality and mutual respect that is essential to the PA profession.

Amy Doepken, R.N., CCRN, a preceptor coordinator in the Kern Critical Care Unit at Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center, was recognized as a Circle of Excellence Award winner from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. She was one of 25 critical care nurses in the U.S. to receive the award in 2010.

Patricia Solis, manager of the Family Birth Center at Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center, was honored as one of the Portland Business Journal's "Forty Under 40." The award honors 40 individuals under 40 years old that are up and coming in their field and show outstanding achievement based on professional accomplishment, community involvement and professional recognition.

Legacy was recognized by the National Association of Minority Contractors as the private organization which provided the most exceptional support to Oregon minority contractors in 2009.

Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center was one of 17 hospitals chosen (from among 5,000 across the U.S.) to receive the High Performing Revenue Cycle Award from the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). Meeting or exceeding the award's criteria not only helps confirm sound fiscal responsibility, but also is a meaningful measure of a positive patient experience.

Portland Children's Investment Fund (CHIF) awarded two of The Children's Hospital's proven programs in early childhood, child abuse prevention/intervention, and foster care
$400,000 to Emanuel Children's Clinic (ECC) for providing a medical home for up to 300 of Portland's foster children and youth
$600,000 to CARES Northwest (a child abuse prevention and treatment consortium that resides on the Emanuel campus and includes The Children's Hospital at Legacy Emanuel, Doernbecher Children's Hospital at OHSU, Kaiser Permanente and Providence Health & Services) for services for an estimated 689 children needing urgent child abuse medical assessments.

Two Legacy physicians, Gwen Grewe, MD and Katherine Morris, MD, were honored by the Portland Business Journal as recipients of the prestigious "40 Under 40" recognition.
Legacy Caregiver Services received the American Society on Aging's prestigious NOMA (Network on Multicultural Aging) Award for it's successful "Powerful Tools for Caregivers" program. Developed more than 10 years ago, the Legacy caregiver program is now "best practice" and is offered in 28 states by 1,100 instructors. Its training materials have reached more than 50,000 caregivers throughout the United States.

The American Stroke Association awarded its "Get With The Guidelines - Stroke Gold Performance Achievement Award" to 4 Legacy Health hospitals: Emanuel, Good Samaritan, Meridian Park and Salmon Creek. Of 1,512 participating stroke programs in the United States, only 120 have received a Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Gold award.

More than 100 Legacy physicians, representing 47 medical specialties, were featured as Top Docs in the January issue of the Portland Monthly magazine. Legacy Emanuel Medical Center was named by The Portland Business Journal as one of Oregon's Most Admired Companies in the Health Care Companies category.
2008
Legacy Meridian Park's stroke program is re-accredited by the Joint Commission "with no recommendations," meaning no deficiencies.
Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center received the Patient Safety Alliance Achievement Award for high standards of medical and surgical patient care in 2007.
Practice Greenhealth honored Legacy Health with its System for Change Award, which recognizes health systems that work cohesively to gather information, set goals, gauge their progress and encourage environmentally friendly practices. Legacy is one of only four health systems in the country to win the prestigious award this year. Practice Greenhealth also presented all 5 Legacy Health Medical Centers with their Environmental Leadership award, bestowed on hospitals that find creative and innovative ways to achieve long-term sustainability. The Oregon Burn Center (OBC) at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center won 3 Telly Awards for its Burn Center Disaster Training video. Produced by 8 Rivers Film, the OBC training video, called Critical 72, won in 3 categories: a Bronze Award for editing, a Bronze Award for training and a Silver Award for cinematography.
Pam Vukovich, Legacy Health's interim president/CEO, was recognized by Oregon State University College of Business as a business leader in the Portland community. The Alumni and Business Partner Awards were established in 2002 to recognize professional achievements and service to the OSU College of Business by alumni and business partners.

2007
Teresia Hazen, registered horticultural therapist and coordinator of Legacy's therapeutic gardens and horticultural therapy, received the 2007 Horticultural Therapy award from the American Horticultural Society.
Legacy Health was honored by Portland Business Journal for our corporate philanthropy.
The Short Stay Unit at Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center was awarded the Lasting Change Award by NRC+Picker for achieving Best Practice status in pain management and maintaining that level of care for a minimum of 18 months. Legacy Caregiver Services received a 2007 National Family Caregiving Award from the National Alliance for Caregiving for the "Powerful Tools for Caregivers" program. In recognition of our state-of-the-art technonolgy to improve patient care, Legacy Health was named to the 2007 "100 Most Wired" list by Hospitals & Health Networks magazine. Legacy has been named on the list every year since 1999.
Trauma Nurses Talk Tough (TNTT) is a 2007 recipient of the American Hospital Association's NOVA Award for effective, collaborative programs focused on improving community health status.
Legacy Health received the 2007 H2E Sustained Environmental Leadership Award from Hospitals for a Healthy Environment (H2E). H2E also inducted Legacy into the H2E Environmental Leadership Circle.
Each Legacy hospital received separate 2007 H2E Environmental Leadership Award from Hospitals for a Healthy Environment (H2E). Each hospital was also being inducted into the H2E Environmental Leadership Circle.
The Portland Business Journal names Pam Vukovich, Legacy's senior vice president and chief financial officer, as one of three non-profit honorees for its 2007 CFO Award.
