Pedinet On-site Program
Overview
The Children's Hospital at Legacy Emanuel has designed a program for nursing professionals interested in learning about pediatric critical care that provides didactic course work, a clinical shadowing experience and transport stabilization. The experience is customized based on the needs of the requesting facility or practice group. Each on-site experience is scheduled based on the availability of the instructors and requested clinicians to provide training.
Target Audience
Pediatric or critical care nursing staff interested in furthering clinical knowledge and experience focused on PICU practice standards and guidelines.
Packages available
Package 1: Pediatric Critical Care Didactic and Clinical Shadow Experience
This option is a combination of 8 hours of didactic course work plus two 12-hour clinical shifts. There are multiple lectures available to choose from to create your group’s individual didactic experience. The clinical shifts are in the PICU with nursing preceptors who will guide each participant through the shadowing experience.

Package 2: Pediatric Critical Care Didactic Course
The following topics are available to choose from to create your group's individual didactic experience. Each topic is assigned a timeframe. The course coordinator will work with a representative from the requesting facility to put together an 8-hour agenda to meet the needs of that group. The didactic course is available at the location of the requesting facility as well.

- Stabilization Courses provided by the Emanuel KIDS Team
- Skill Specific Training (example - Intubation)

Package 3: Clinical Shadowing Experience
This is a clinical experience focused on the critically ill pediatric patient. Two 12-hour clinical shifts in the PICU are customized based on the needs of the participants.

Pediatric or Critical Care Nursing staff interested in furthering their clinical knowledge base, focusing on the critically ill pediatric patient.
Cost: $350
Registration Information
Each requesting site/individual will be sent a form to identify specific skills that they would like the participant to experience for the shadow portion of the packages. PediNet will send out the form via postal mail or e-mail for the requesting site.
Upon receiving the information, PediNet will work with the PICU education staff and manager to identify a start date for the participants and provide additional information for the sending site related to overnight accommodations.
