Amino Acid/ Metabolic Screen
Collect random or timed specimen in container with no preservative. Aliquot 20 mL and freeze. Include a list of medications and clinical indications.
Amylase
Collect random or timed specimen in container with no preservative. Aliquot 10 mL.
Arsenic
Collect timed specimen in plastic jug. Aliquot 20 mL and refrigerate. Do not use a metal lid or lid liner.
Bence Jones
Collect timed specimen in container with no preservative. Aliquot 100 mL and refrigerate.
Calcium
Collect random or timed specimen in container preserved with 5 mL 6N HCl. Aliquot
5 mL and refrigerate.
Catecholamines Fractionated (Free)
Collect timed specimen in container with no preservative. Refrigerate during collection. Aliquote 20 mL and freeze.
Chloride
Collection random or timed specimen in container with no preservative. Aliquot 2 mL and refrigerate.
Citric Acid (Citrates)
Collect timed specimen in container preserved with 10 mL 6N HCl. Aliquot 20 mL. Adjust pH to 2 or less with 6N HCl.
Cortisol Urinary (Free)
Collect timed specimen in container and refrigerate. Aliquot 20 mL and freeze.
Creatine
Collect timed specimen in container with no preservative. Refrigerate during collection. Aliquot 20 mL and freeze immediately after aliquoting.
Creatinine
Collect random or timed specimen in container with no preservative. Aliquot 20 mL and refrigerate. Submit height and weight for clearance.
Cyclic AMP
Collect timed specimen in container with no preservative. Keep cold during collection. Aliquot 20 mL and freeze immediately.
Cystine (Quantative)
Collect timed specimen in container with no preservative and keep refrigerated. Aliquot 20 mL and freeze. Do not add acid or other preservatives.

Collect timed specimen in container with no preservative, refrigerate during collection. Aliquot 20 mL and refrigerate or freeze.
17-Hydroxycorticosteroids
Collect timed specimen in container with no preservative, refrigerate during collection. Aliquot 20 mL and freeeze.
Immunoelectrophoresis
Collect timed specimen in container with no preservative and refrigerate. Aliquot 20 mL.
17-Ketosteroids
Collect timed specimen in container with no preservative, refrigerate during collection. Aliquot 20 mL, adjust pH to 2-3 with 6N HCl.

Collect a timed specimen and keep refrigerated during collection. Aliquot 20 mL, acidify to pH of 1.5 -0 2.0 with 6N HCl.

Sugar
Collect random or timed specimen in container with no preservative, keep refrigerated. If not refrigerated or for timed specimen only, collect in container with 10 g boric acid as preservative. Aliquot 0.5 mL and refrigerate.

Uric Acid
Collect timed specimen in container with no preservative and refrigerated during collection. Mix specimen well before aliquoting 1 mL. Chemistry will adjust pH above 7.
VMA (Vanillylmandelic acid)
