Legacy Health's Employee Benefits
See Benefit Summary for a brief summary of Legacy's 2010 benefit package. You'll have to decide for yourself, but we're pretty sure our plans are better in many respects than the market average. And then we go further by offering benefits not available elsewhere.
Our health insurance benefits are available for regular full-time and part-time employees scheduled to work 24 hours or more per week (some unions choose not to participate) and their spouses, eligible domestic partners and eligible children to age 24 (when enrolled full-time in school). Eligibility begins the first of the month following the first day of employment.
Annual paid leave and leaves of absence
Regular full-time and part-time Legacy employees earn Annual Paid Leave (APL) for their use for vacations, a day off here and there, holidays or in case they get sick. (There are some exceptions for union employees - check your contract.) New regular full-time employees earn 22 APL days a year. The longer you work for Legacy, the more APL you are entitled to earn, up to 38 days a year.
In addition, there are many types of leaves available at Legacy for absences that exceed three days. Federal or state laws, such as the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the Oregon and Washington Family Leave Acts (OFLA and WFLA) govern some of the leaves. Other leaves include personal and educational, military, jury duty, bereavement and community service.
Additional benefits are listed below. If you have questions, call or email the Legacy's HR Answer Center: 503-415-5100, hranswer@lhs.org.
