Biography

Andy Merrill, MD received his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He completed his OB-GYN residency in Cincinnati, Ohio and his fellowship in Maternal-Fetal medicine at the University of California, Irvine. He came to Legacy Emanuel Hospital upon completing his fellowship in 1986. His clinical interests include advanced maternal age, fetal assessments, lupus in pregnancy and multiple gestation. Previous research interests include assessment of fetal well-being and prevention of stillbirth. He continues to be involved in resident and medical student education. When not at work Dr. Merrill enjoys gardening, skiing, and parenting. In addition, he was a founding board member of the Oregon chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
