Biography

John W. Ragsdale, MD, has worked as a general surgeon in the Portland area since 1991. He is a Laparoscopic Donor Nephrectomy Surgeon at Legacy Transplant Services, in addition to his general and laparoscopic surgery practice at Providence Milwaukie Hospital.

Dr. Ragsdale received his undergraduate degree at William Jewell College, and went on to earn his medical degree in 1985 at Saint Louis University in Missouri. He completed his internship and residency at Oregon Health Sciences University, and was a Research Resident in the Liver Transplant Research Laboratory.

Dr. Ragsdale is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, and the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is a Clinical Associate Professor in surgery at Oregon Health and Science University. He also has publications in The American Journal of Surgery, Journal of Surgical Research, and American Journal of Gastroenterology.
