Employee recognition

The award goes to... you

Your hard work doesn't go unnoticed at Legacy. We appreciate the efforts of our valuable employees and give them recognition they deserve. Each year, we sponsor several awards to recognize outstanding service, including:

Milestone awards: At each of your significant anniversary dates (5, 10, 15, 20 years, etc.), we reward your valuable contributions with a special gift.

Oscar and Helen Gustafson Award: Employees nominate their peers for this award, named for Oscar Gustafson, a long-time administrator at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center. Recipients exemplify his personal qualities and mirror Legacy's Preferred Employee Profile.

Nursing Excellence Awards: Presented during National Nurses Week to nurses who have demonstrated a commitment to excellent patient care and community service.

Glen Duffy Award: Awarded to members of the Kern Critical Care Unit's nursing staff at Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center who exceed criteria in clinical expertise, leadership/communication, mentoring skills and human touch.

John G. King Quality Award: Recognizes team accomplishments in clinical quality and process improvement. The award is named for John G. King, who served as Legacy Medical Group's president and chief executive officer from 1991 through 1999.

Roger G. Larson Quality Award: This honor recognizes team improvements in Service Quality. The Larson Award is a memorial to Roger G. Larson, who from 1969 to 1982 helped found and served as president and chief executive officer of Metropolitan Hospitals, Inc., which later became Legacy Health.

Each Legacy location also has its own employee award programs to honor and recognize individuals who display exceptional professional skill, customer service, teamwork and commitment to clinical quality and patient safety.
