Minor in Possession

Municipal Courts and Individual Referrals

You have the opportunity to participate in the Minor in Possession (MIP) & Adult Furnishing Class, designed to help you (and for youth under 18 with your parent) learn the potential and very real consequences of unsafe choices, behaviors and attitudes.

Class locations and activities

Please call 503-413-4960 for class schedule, location and time. If your preferred class date is full, you will need to select another date and request an extension from the Court if the second date is beyond your compliance deadline.

Under 18 Minor in Possession Class
Length: 3 hours, 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Arrive 30 minutes before class time to sign in
 
Activities: Youth Under 18 & Parents 
—Presentations on the consequences of underage drinking, marijuana and other drugs; providing tools and skills to help you improve family communication
—Group discussion
—Developing an Escalating Consequences Agreement
—Testing

Under 18 Minor in Possession Class
Length: 3 hours, 10:15 am - 1:15pm
Arrive 30 minutes before class time to sign in
 
Activities: Youth Under 18 & Parents 
-Presentations on the consequences of underage drinking, marijuana and other drugs; providing tools and skills to help you improve family communication
-Group discussion
-Developing an Escalating Consequences Agreement
-Testing

Activities: Youth 18 and/or Adult Furnishing
Length: 3 hours, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Arrive 30 minutes before class time to sign in.
Presentations on the consequences of making bad choices while being under the influence of alcohol, marijuana or drugs; and/or being an adult who furnishes alcohol and/or provides a place for minors to drink; and learning tools and skills to help you evaluate life choices, personal responsibilities and age verification

Activities: Youth 18 and/or Adult Furnishing
Length: 3 hours, 10:15 am - 1:15pm

Legacy Emanuel Medical Center Minor under 18: $50 cash only (Reduced to $20 if a parent or other adult over age 25 attends with you.)
St. Helens Columbia Learning Center Minor under 18: $50 cash only (Reduced to $25 if a parent or other
adult over age 25 attends with you.)
Youth 18 & Adult/Purveyor Furnishing: $50

You must pay the fee in cash to the course coordinator when you check in at the class. Payment and your full participation is required for satisfactory completion. See the guidelines for participants.
