In the Children's Cancer & Blood Disorders Program, your child's care will be managed directly by our board-certified pediatric oncologists -- never an intern or resident. An oncologist is available 24/7 to answer any questions or concerns you or your child's pediatrician have regarding your child.
Specialized nursing staff
Our nurses receive extensive training in order to care for your child:
Pediatric development and rehabilitation
Legacy has the only inpatient children's development and rehabilitation program in Oregon.
Our staff works closely with the Pediatric Development & Rehabilitation team to help your child deal with any complications or side effects of treatment, including muscle weakness or nerve damage. They provide stellar in-house therapy to maximize your child's potential and nurture their strengths, using kid-friendly exercises and equipment. This service is also offered on an out-patient basis.
Over the last thirty years, clinical trials have led to significant treatment advances and higher cure rates for many children's cancers.
As a member of the Children's Oncology Group, we offer the latest trial protocols, including Phase II and III studies that represent the best care available. This means your child never receives a treatment that hasn't already been tested. We only offer proven, evidence-based treatment. Please visit our clinical trials page to see our current trials.
