Health care for the uninsured

In a healthy community, everyone has access to healthcare.

Our society faces a major crisis: providing medical care for the uninsured and the under-insured. Legacy Health is doing its part by taking the lead in charity care. In addition, we partner with community organizations to expand access to public health services.

Each Legacy hospital supports free safety-net clinics, care networks for the uninsured and recuperative centers for the homeless. We also give the clinics in-kind lab and imaging services, charity care and cash donations, as well as publicizing the need for volunteers.

But charity care and safety-net clinics are not a long-term solution. To learn about local and national efforts toward universal healthcare coverage, please see

Safety-net clinics

The following clinics are entirely staffed by volunteers. They need healthcare professionals and non-medical help for duties such as patient registration, reception and clerical support.
