About Portland, Vancouver and Silverton
Large service area. One great health care system
Legacy Health serves communities from Vancouver, Wash., to Portland, to the Mid-Willamette Valley communities of Silverton, Woodburn, Keizer and Salem.
Portland, a city with a quirky personality, was recently named North America's "Best Big City" by Money magazine. Located in northwest Oregon at the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia rivers, Portland boasts snow-capped Mt. Hood sixty miles to the east and the rugged Pacific coast the same distance to the west. The climate is mild, averaging 66 degrees in the summer and 38 in the winter, with about 37 annual inches of rain (and very occasional snow) to keep the landscape lush and green.
Vancouver enjoys a similar climate in its location on the north bank of the Columbia River directly across from Portland. With the ocean in one direction, the Cascade Mountains in the other, and the spectacular Columbia River Gorge only 30 minutes away, Vancouver combines the attractions of a major metropolitan area with small-town charm and abundant recreation.
Silverton, Oregon is an idyllic community of 7,500, nestled in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Named Oregon’s Garden City, Silverton is home to Silver Falls State Park, The Oregon Garden Resort, a vibrant downtown rich in art and dining, and is just minutes from Oregon’s agricultural and viticultural epicenter.
