Emergency services for all ages, all types of illnesses and injuries

Usual Times/Days of Week Unit Open:

24/7

Shift Length Worked & Start Times:

8 & 12 hour shifts

Number of Licensed Patient Beds:

25, including ambulatory and pediatric units

Average Daily Unit Census:

102 patients per day

Average Length of Stay:

Variable; 2 hours for admitted patients

Number RNs Working Each Shift:

Minimum 4 (night shift), maximum 10 (days,evenings) including charge nurse 24/7

Skill Mix: 

RNs, ED Technicians, unit secretary

Style of Nursing & Usual Patient Assignment:

RNs are not given room assignments, all are expected to carry full loads pending situation

Special Skill Sets Usually Required of RNs: 

ACLS, PALS, ENPC, TNCC/TEAM certifications
