The Ophthalmology Library is open to anyone in the Oregon and Southwest Washington region who has questions about eyes and eye conditions. Support from the Good Samaritan Foundation allows the library to purchase eye-related materials for both the public and healthcare professionals.

The library is located on the campus of Legacy Good Samaritan in Suite 160 on the first floor of Building 2 which is located between Lovejoy and Marshall at 1040 N.W. 22nd Avenue. Library collections include vision-related journals, books, and audiovisual media for professionals, students and the community. Anyone may use the library and all items in the patient education collection may also be checked out by community members. Many free materials are available, including patient brochures and fact sheets published by the American Academy of Ophthalmology. In addition, the library has access to Internet resources and can do extensive searches for both professionals and community members in the U.S. National Library of Medicine databases, PubMed and MedlinePlus.

You may visit the library or contact a librarian by telephone, fax or mail. Responses are tailored to your needs and may range from supplying you with a quick answer over the telephone to mailing a larger packet of informational materials to your home.
