Comments

A negative test result does not rule out the possibility of Legionella infection due to other serogroups or species of Legionella.  A Positive result may indicate a recent or remote infection with serogroup 1.  Excretion of Legionella antigen may vary depending on the individual patient.  Antigen excretion may begin as early as 3 days after onset of symptoms and persist for up to 1 year afterwards.
