Comments

Legacy lab requires that a Culture AFB be ordered with any TB PCR test for diagnostic purposes. This will allow susceptibility testing of isolates and will allow for the detection of Mycobacteria other than tuberculosis.

TB PCR may be ordered alone, without culture, for infection control purposes on known positive patients.

Rifampin resistance is now verified and reportable.
