Legacy Health Partners welcomes new medical director
Nick Kashey, M.D., recently joined Legacy Health Partners (LHP) as medical director. Dr. Kashey brings a wealth of experience in quality improvement and population health. He will split his time between Legacy Medical Group – working as a floater between several primary care clinics – and LHP. He’s interested in opportunities to develop systems that support coordination of care and communication between primary care providers, specialists, ED and hospital providers.
Dr. Kashey is a native of New York City. He received his undergraduate degree at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and completed his M.D. and MPH degrees at New York Medical College in Valhalla, N.Y. He did his combined internal medicine/pediatrics residency at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass.
He served as medical director of Population Health for Baystate Health, a clinically integrated network in western Massachusetts, where he worked on quality improvement, helped manage performance in risk contracts, and developed care models between primary care and specialty providers.
In his leisure time Dr. Kashey enjoys bicycling, skiing and surfing. He and his family drove to Portland from the east coast, camping in National Parks along the way, and he is now looking forward to enjoying all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer with his wife and two teenage children.
