Free flu vaccination efforts underway

October 2017

Please join Legacy Health to protect the community and get vaccinated before peak flu season begins. We offer free flu clinics and flu vouchers to make it easy for you, your staff and family members to get vaccinated.

While most of the first round of hospital-based flu clinics are complete, there are several options for you and your your family:

  • Visit the hospital community clinics that begin in November, where flu vaccine will be offered to all ages, six months and up.
  • Get vaccinated at any Legacy Employee Health Clinic. We make it a priority to accommodate our providers.
  • Print out vouchers for pre-paid flu shots at Rite Aid and Legacy–GoHealth (for providers and employees only). Legacy badge required with coupon at time of free flu shot.

This season, Employee Health will offer these flu vaccination options: four-strain, high-dose, tiny needle, preservative free, egg free and latex free. There is no flu nasal-spray again this year.

For the latest schedule and contact information, visit the “Flu vaccination and information” page on MyLegacy, or contact Employee Health.

Vaccination status

Finally, we are required to track vaccination rates among our medical staff. After you receive your flu vaccination, please email Employee Health the approximate date of vaccination. This information is required by The Joint Commission, states of Oregon and Washington, and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services*. Only aggregate data are reported; individual vaccination information is kept private.

If you decline to get vaccinated, please notify Employee Health as well.

(*Beginning in 2020, CMS reimbursement will be greatly influenced by Legacy’s influenza vaccination rates.)
