Need a new EMR? Check out Legacy.

February 2014

Private practice physicians looking for a complete electronic medical record system can turn to Legacy for help. We can also help you pay for more than a third of the system thanks to recent federal decisions. These decisions extend regulatory protections for hospitals that want to provide assistance to physicians in adopting certain health information technology.

Legacy Epic for Affiliated Physicians (LEAP) is Legacy Health’s integrated health record and practice management offering for affiliated private practices in the Portland-Vancouver area.

This offering for private practice physicians has been subsidized by Legacy Health to enable clinics to retain Legacy Health’s Epic electronic health record (EHR) when the offering would otherwise be unaffordable for many.

Our subsidized rate was based on the relaxation of the Stark Laws for EHR donation that was set to expire Dec. 31, 2013. Legacy Health was anxiously awaiting the news on whether this subsidized offering for our community partners would continue. In December, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) released the news that hospitals may continue to offer subsidies through Dec. 31, 2021.

You can find more LEAP information on Legacy's website.
