LHP recently asked practices to complete a Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) impact survey. The goal was to give LHP some insight into how prepared network providers feel in terms of their practices’ ability to respond to MACRA requirements so that LHP could tailor support services most beneficial to providers. Here is a summary of the survey results:
- 37 practices completed the survey – 11 primary care and 26 specialty
- About 40% of respondents feel that their practice is in good shape for MACRA. They have a solid understanding of the program and have already made some choices about participation and reporting for the 2017 performance year.
- About 30% of respondents feel unprepared for MACRA in the sense that they are not familiar with the program and not sure if they are impacted.
- The remaining 30% of respondents lie somewhere in the middle. They reported having an adequate understanding of the program but have yet to make any readiness plans and are unsure how to report.
Using the survey results, LHP is now in the process of developing MACRA Subscription Services comprising offerings and resources most beneficial to LHP practices. These services will include MACRA-oriented assessments, consultations and assistance to promote success in the program. Watch for more details in the coming months.
