Deadlines approaching for 2017 MACRA participation
For practices participating in MACRA for 2017, we are within the final 90-day window to report data for the Quality, Advancing Care Information, and Improvement Activities categories for the year. If you have not begun your data reporting as of Oct. 2, you won’t be able to meet the requirement of reporting 90 days of data for these categories to be eligible for a positive payment adjustment in 2019.
However, for the Quality category, you still have the option of reporting a shorter period of data – as little as one day – before the end of the year to avoid receiving a negative payment adjustment in 2019.
A MACRA action checklist posted on the LHP team site (available to members only) is available to help you confirm if you are on track to meet MACRA participation requirements. If you have questions about MACRA resources available to you through Legacy Health Partners, your field operations adviser can assist you.
The LHP staff is looking ahead to how the MACRA participation requirements will change for 2018. The July LHP newsletter provided guidance on the key changes expected for 2018 based on the proposed MACRA rule. LHP will provide updated guidance for practices based on the final rule, which CMS will publish later this fall.
