About CARES Northwest

Founded in 1987, CARES (Child Abuse and Response Evaluation Services) Northwest is a collaborative effort among Randall Children's Hospital at Legacy Emanuel, Kaiser Permanente, OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital and Providence Health & Services.

Helping young victims reclaim their childhood

As a community-based medical program for the assessment, treatment and prevention of child abuse, CARES Northwest provides children a safe, compassionate place to share their difficult stories. Medical providers, mental health professionals, child protective caseworkers and detectives work under one roof to coordinate their response. This caring approach minimizes the trauma for both the child and their family so healing can begin right away.

$5 Million gift launches expansion of services

Thanks to a transformational gift of $5 million from an anonymous donor, CARES Northwest is expanding its services for abused and neglected children. This gift – the largest donation in the program’s history – is making it possible for CARES Northwest to help hundreds more children, reduce wait times for services and strengthen prevention efforts. On behalf of the community, we thank this generous donor for investing in the lives of our most vulnerable.

Take a stand against child abuse - DONATE NOW

Your tax-deductible donation, of any size, will help sustain the expansion of CARES Northwest so we can continue to help children reclaim their childhood. Use our online donation form or mail a check to the address below (made payable to CARES Northwest). You can also donate appreciated securities, stocks and bonds. Stock transfers to CARES Northwest go through Randall Children's Hospital Foundation (please designate the gift to CARES Northwest).
