Breast cancer patient stories
"I want to urge women to do both self breast exams, and if over 40 start screening with yearly mammograms.
Early diagnosis is key to a good outcome. I'm a living example of that. I was diagnosed with invasive lobular breast cancer at age 45, when my daughter was 4 and my son was 8.
One night while in bed, I decided to give my breasts a check. My fingers landed on a firm lump. The moment I felt it, I knew it was not normal. As a result of my self-exam, I was diagnosed at an early stage, and am here 10 years later to tell my story."
