Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Providers and Locations
Your Legacy cancer care team may include: head and neck surgeon and specialists, facial reconstructive surgeon, neurosurgeon, ophthalmologist, medical oncologist and radiation oncologist, plus specialists in recovery and rehabilitation. Your treatment team may also include your general dentist, an oral oncologist and a maxillofacial prosthodontist.
At our multidisciplinary cancer care conferences, specialists review complex cases to provide an expert "second opinion" on diagnosis, pre-treatment evaluation, staging, treatment strategy and rehabilitation. The team includes medical oncologists, pathologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, surgeons, nurses, research coordinators and other cancer care staff. This is a critically important component of cancer care for treatment planning for many patients.
Oncology nurse navigators
Our personalized support services begin with our cancer nurse navigators. They will help you throughout your treatment, from knowing what to expect to finding the right support services and helping you manage symptoms and treatment side effects. Kristin “Apple” Applegate-King, R.N., is the oncology nurse navigator for the Legacy Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Program.
