Legacy Cancer Institute was the first in the region to adopt the highly targeted form of radiation therapy, breast brachytherapy (accelerated partial breast irradiation). We now have nearly 10 years of experience and have treated the most patients among area providers. Below is a table showing our patients' exceptional outcomes.
Breast brachytherapy outcomes
This table shows the extremely low rates of cancer coming back (recurrence rates) among our patients treated with breast brachytherapy, as compared to patients treated with breast brachytherapy nationwide. Patients were followed for several years after treatment.
