Uveitis Care

Help for inflammation of the eye

Uveitis is the medical term for inflammation inside the eye. Although many people are not familiar with the term uveitis, this disease accounts for about the same amount of visual loss as diabetes or macular degeneration. Uveitis differs from diabetic retinopathy or macular degeneration in that it may start early in life and cause a problem for decades. Some forms of uveitis are mild; other forms can severely affect vision.

The diseases related to uveitis include:

  • Scleritis
  • Orbital inflammation
  • Mucous membrane pemphigoid

An ophthalmologist, optometrist or another doctor may make referrals to our clinic.
