Heart Rhythm / Arrhythmia

What is arrhythmia?

An arrhythmia is frequently first diagnosed due to a heart rate that is either too fast or too slow.

An abnormality in your heart’s electrical system can cause arrhythmia. You can be born with abnormal heart rhythm or you can develop it later in life.

Arrhythmia conditions can include:

  • Atrial fibrillation
  • Atrial flutter
  • Bradycardia
  • Supraventricular tachycardia
  • Ventricular fibrillation
  • Ventricular tachycardia
  • Heart block
  • Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome
  • Long and short QT syndrome
  • Brugada syndrome
