Legacy Mount Hood earns Community Partnership Award
Mt. Hood Community College recognizes Legacy Mount Hood for its commitment to clinical education and workforce development
Promoting workforce development and providing clinical education and training for college students preparing to work as medical professionals is a commitment and community investment that Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center takes seriously. Legacy Mount Hood was recently honored with a Community Partnership Award for its collaborative work with Mt. Hood Community College. Tanya Shanks-Connors, Chief Nursing Officer for Legacy Mount Hood, accepted the award.
Mt. Hood Community College's annual Advisory Appreciation Breakfast and Community Partnership Awards recognizes the contributions of advisory committee members and awards two key community or business partners for their partnership and strong collaborative work with the college. "The college has outstanding partners that are important to recognize for their great work and contributions that benefit our students," said Jarrod Hogue, Mt. Hood Community College's VP of Applied Technologies, Workforce and Partnerships.
Legacy Mount Hood received its Community Partnership Award in the Large Organization category for companies with 100 or more employees. “We appreciate the recognition of our long-term partnership with Mt. Hood Community College to support medical education and workforce training and to advance clinical professions,” said Gretchen Nichols, President, Legacy Mount Hood.
The Community Partnerships Award recognized and honored Legacy Mount Hood for:
Providing clinical internships for nursing, surgical technician and respiratory care students
Actively participating in college advisory and Career Technical Education committees
Hiring Mount Hood Community College graduates
Funding sponsorships that support student education
Participating in Mount Hood Community College Job Fairs
Providing supplies for nursing skills lab
