Kids Day at Legacy Salmon Creek
Seven hundred kids brought their parents and grandparents to Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center for an afternoon of free and fun activities at the Vancouver hospital earlier this month.
The annual Healthy Kids Fair was sponsored by the KMR Group Foundation and supported by the staff at Legacy Salmon Creek. Corwin Beverage provided food for the 100 plus volunteers.
Nurses provided bicycle helmets and provided safety checks on both bike helmets and car seats and hands-on activities for the kids. They even let the kids try the DaVinci robotic surgical tools operating on a stuffed animal: a duck.
Blaze from the Portland Trailblazers surprised the kids with a visit. Pet Partners brought their therapy animals for kids to meet. Community partners like AMR, YMCA, N.W. Noggin, Free Clinic of S.W. Washington, Battle Ground Free Clinic and Prevent! brought activities for the kids.
The hospital has hosted the Healthy Kids Fair every June since the hospital opened in 2005. For more information about this story or about Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center
