Saving brains: award recognizes stroke care
Treating strokes quickly and appropriately can make a difference — in saving a patient's brain and quality of life.
Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center stands alone in the South Metro for delivering advanced stroke care.
In 2017 that effort has again been rewarded: Legacy Meridian Park has received the American Stroke Association’s "Get With The Guidelines" Stroke Gold Plus Achievement Award.
The award recognizes the hospital’s commitment to providing the most appropriate stroke treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence.
“A stroke patient loses 1.9 million neurons each minute stroke treatment is delayed," says Carol Palmer, director of Patient Care Services at Legacy Meridian Park. "You can see the importance of delivering treatment quickly and safely. The recognition reinforces our team’s hard work.”
As an accredited comprehensive stroke center, Legacy Meridian Park brings data-driven treatment that helps patients receive the advanced care they need, when they need it, and help minimize the long-term effects of stroke and cardiac arrest.
