About Me:

I grew up in Montana and is an avid outdoors enthusiast. I became interested in medicine while working with a medical team caring for Australian Aborigines. I came to Oregon to attend Lewis and Clark College. I have worked as emergency medicine physician, hospitalist, urgent care physician and with Indian Health Services in Montana. I now do the full spectrum of family medicine. I enjoy seeing entire families. I have a special interest in sports medicine. I strongly believe in preventative medicine and helping the patient establish healthy lifestyle to maintain optimal physical, emotional health. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and animals, and love all sports and the outdoors. Please note: Before joining Legacy Medical Group-Raleigh Hills, Dr. Heydon provided care at Legacy Medical Group-Forest Heights, which closed on March 24, 2017.

waited for a while for labs to be drawn. I think she thought I was getting dressed or something, but I never got undressed...your question about education should list trade schools, apprenticeships, etc- ie I'm a diploma grad nurse!

This was the very first time I had met Kim Heydon. I went more to interview her to determine if she was the right doctor for me. I think that Legacy should refrain from sending out surveys like this one. Your questions seem to be off the mark. Many of my answers to your questions won't make any sense because she doesn't know me very well and I don't know her very well. I am still determining if this doctor is a good match for me.

All good. 1. I brought a letter I received by mail from Rite Aid Pharmacy where I do business with & asked Dr. Heydon to read & discuss with me - this was done to my satisfaction. 2. Prior to seeing Dr. Heydon the MA took my vital signs [details deleted to protect privacy] followed up with a discussion and questions of the last time I visited with my cardiologist & a recommendation to see one recommended by her. I was happy for this recommendation based on my past medical history that currently requires me to take [details deleted to protect privacy] This dr. is very thorough & doesn't waste time during evaluation & discussion.

Lovely doctor filling in for my regular primary care dr. Seamless care due to complete records. Covered my immediate issue, plus a few loose ends I wanted advice about anyway. Very nice in every way.

After 3 tries, the person trying to draw blood suggested I will need to return to have blood drawn. The person drawing my blood also suggested the trouble might be that I wasn't hydrated enough. I sat in the exam room for 15 minutes waiting - maybe someone should have asked me if I wanted a glass of water during that time to make it easier on everyone. I've been giving blood from years & have never had a time where they couldn't find a vein to use.

My doctor just retired so to find someone like Dr. Kim was wonderful. She took her time answering my questions and concerns. Everyone in that office is to be commended. Kimberly, the medical assistant was awesome. Diane, at the front desk was very kind. Good experience.

This doctor is not personable and she does not examine you correct or does shortcuts. For example - On my last physical exam she barely examine me and did not go through a checklist of physical points that a doctor usually performs on a patient.

Understandably the doctor and I are still quite new to each other and even when I am not incapacitated by pain I am not very articulate but I felt she was not listening to me.

I love Dr. Heydon! she took so much time to explain all of my options for calming anxiety before my presentations and also took into account other prescriptions I'm currently on. she is incredibly knowledgeable, has such a warm demeanor, and overall the best doctor I've ever had!

Typically, I see the PA Kim prior to seeing Dr. Heydon. She wasn't there this visit so I was seen by a floater. Unfortunately, it was her first day. She had not met the team, had an orientation or knew where anything was. She took BP and drug info, but had to keep leaving the room to go ask questions. When it came time to do a blood draw, I asked for a phlebotomist familiar with butterflies and tiny veins. The visit was fine but having a floater totally unfamiliar with the office seemed less professional than I have come to expect from a Legacy facility, and I have been to [location deleted] in the past [date deleted].

I am an extremely complex patient and Dr Heydon is the best PCP that I have ever had. She is able to keep track of my care and remembers details that many doctors don't. Her office also takes additional precautions to make sure I'm as safe there as possible given my health problems and is flexible with me.

Dr. Heydon's medical assistant, Kim, called me because Dr. Heydon noticed on my record that I had not had an EKG in quite some time. I subsequently made the appointment. It was so gratifying to know that my doctor was looking out for my health! I had the EKG (Dr. H told me it was perfect [name deleted]!). Thank you for asking.

I am very impressed at how well Dr Heydon remembers the details of my unusual case, and how knowledgeable she is about my medical needs. She is very respectful and includes me and my ideas in the thought process of how to handle various things.

Yearly Physical. It went well. My previous doctor did not have my records sent to Dr. Heydon yet so she had nothing to compare to. Dr Heydon did some checks my previous doctor didn't do and didnt' do some my previous doctor did do.

I was brought back for my appointment about 20 mins late by Dr. Heydon's medical assistant, with no acknowledgement or simple apology that they were running behind by either the MA or the provider. Dr. Heydon operates in a mostly self-serving manner; she guides the appointment to fit the limited inquiry/interest she has. At no point during the visit did she offer any attempt to connect with me on a human level nor provide any sympathy during my visit. I had several concerns and topics that I was prepared to discuss, but at no point was I asked if I had ANY concerns or questions about other issues I had during my visit. She really did not listen long enough for the things she asked about to really understand my health concerns. I am careful how wordy my explanations can get, however, mid-way through my attempt to talk about any concern, she cut me off or changed the subject; seems at times she got impatient and distracted when she was trying to look at my record. I had to quickly bring up a main issue of mine as she was ready to leave the room and all I got was a disinterested and dismissive response. Twice now, she has become oddly fixated on one subject - which is a legitimate issue - but does not show the same concern for anything else. The physical I had was one of the least comprehensive that I have had in my life and I am still baffled by it. I waited several weeks for this appointment and left feeling incredibly frustrated by the fact that I feel like no progress was made towards my health. Will not be going back to a disinterested provider to waste my time and money on. It's incredibly concerning to have a provider like this in healthcare that does not take the time to really assess what is going on, it almost seems negligent. Additionally, when the MA took my blood pressure, the cuff wasn't placed snuggly on and was loose enough to slide down on its own if I hadn't kept my arm raised. When I had my blood drawn, the MA is not skilled enough to find an obvious vein to draw from; it was concerning that I had to point out a vein and which direction it ran. Neither provider nor MA, knocked BEFORE they opened the door. And, on every occasion that I've made an appointment, Dr. Heydon has either coughed out loud without covered her mouth and does not follow the basic rules of hand hygiene. She did not even seem to care if I would feel uncomfortable during a certain part of the exam; no consideration or awareness concerning patient comfort.

Kim has been my provider for over 13 years. She is one doctor that I have high respect for. She always listens and understands my concerns. Over the years I have had several health issues and she has always been there for me in a professional matter. Excellent Doctor.

I had an appt at 2:10pm, taken back at 2:30pm, nurse did her stuff, then waited till 3:45pm till saw doc. This has happened more than once where the wait for the doc is over 45 minutes. Totally unacceptable and no apology for being late and making me late. Then had to call office multiple times for a lab order, then when I was there for labs as part of this appointment, THEY DID NOT take the lab test I needed, that they ORDERED, and had to go get a second stab the next day at another office, instead of them doing it all at once. I am totally frustrated with this office / doctor. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone and I am looking for a new doctor.

We'd heard that scheduler/receptionists generally accommodate requested appt. times/days for newborn appointments (within reason - a day or two), but did not find that the case here.

My former doctor [name deleted to protect privacy] no longer works at this clinic. I understand she went back to graduate school to become a hospital administrator. I made this appointment since I had not seen a doctor in over a year and I wanted to establish a new relationship with a physician I hope will become my regular doctor. Kim was very nice and seemed to listen well. I had just come down with a cold and my blood pressure was up for the first time in my life. I had only taken a prescription diuretic twice in a month. I am not on any regular medications. I was surprised to find out that women no longer get pap smears after the age of 60. I quit smoking 13 years ago and have had a weight issue ever since. I hope this doctor may be able to help me with that in some way.

I've visited Dr Heydon for many years, occasionally with very long (like multi-year) gaps between visits. Despite long absences over the years, her recollection of past visits is quite remarkable, it's like visiting an old friend who's really-really smart and knows what's best.

First meeting with Dr Heyden as Dr Gibson left her practice. Dr Heyden spent a lot of time getting to know me and addressed the health concerns I had. She was very efficient and genuinely interested in me. Her MA, Kimberly, also was very kind. Legacy has THE BEST physicians.

The office in Raleigh Hills is hard to find. It needs a sign on Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy directing patients because you can't see it from the road. I drove up and down looking for the office, finally called the office and the gave me a landmark to look for (the Chase bank).

Kim is an excellent listener and communicator and very knowledgeable . She also exhibits continuing passion for primary care medine which in my experience is rare and wonderful for the patient.

Dr. Heydon has been her Dr. since birth, except for this past year but finally switched my daughter back to her from Providence to Legacy where Dr. Heydon is. my husband, myself and youngest daughter all see her. She is the best!!

I really felt like Dr. Heydon did not spend enough time with me and was not respectful of my concerns at all. She didn't care about what medications or vitamins I was taking, and didn't even ask me about my medical history. I told her I'd had a lot of health issues in the past and she just said "ok" and moved on. I was incredibly disappointed.

Dr. Heydon's PA, Kim, was kind, friendly yet professional, put me at ease while taking blood and BP and administering a shot. Kerry and the other front desk staff were pleasant and competent. I observed their interaction with others as well and found it consistently professional and respectful. It is a pleasure to visit this Legacy office.

The recent health records from my oncologist were not available because he uses a different system, so I will need to pursue collecting them for Dr. Heydon. Since I am a very difficult patient to draw blood from, I will need to have my oncologist's office do any further blood draws.
