About Me:

Long dedicated to the health and care of women, Dr. Van Houten enjoys the breadth of practice encompassing both obstetrics and gynecology. Her areas of specific interest include high risk and normal obstetrics, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, vulvar health, adolescent health, and contraceptive management. She seeks to provide women with the knowledge to make informed decisions to facilitate their personal health and well-being. Dr. Van Houten describes herself as an avid reader, crossword puzzle addict, NPR groupie, and dedicated runner. She and her husband are active supporters of the arts and enjoy the Pacific Northwest outdoors with their family including their Jack Russell Terrier, Evie Knievel.

The MA was super nice. She was new, and she was friendly and made me feel welcomed. I hope she stays with the group for a long while. My doctor was amazing, as always.

Dr Van Houten is one of the best doctors I have had the privilege to see. She always takes time to review my concerns and make me feel heard, and provides treatment options that meet my needs. Everyone deserves to have a doctor like Dr Van Houten.

I felt like the Dr and nurse were so nice. The Dr reviewed my history before coming in and the nurse was seriously an angel and made me feel like I didn't have anything to worry about and just acted like a normal human and to me, that's important.

I feel like I left the appointment with more questions than answers. I just was referred to other places for answers because the doctor couldn't answer most involving gender affirming care hysterectomy.

Dr. Van Houten is a real gem. Despite caring for thousands of patients and seeing me once a year at most, she remembers my specific health issues and addresses them easily. She is prompt, careful, and I trust her. I'm thrilled she's still with Legacy and I can't say enough good things about her.

Dr. Van Houten provided extremely compassionate care, offered me multiple options to help with my current medical issues, but also with an overall long term goal in place. I felt very supported by her and her team that saw me.

Had issues with new staff booking the initial appointment but after messaging Dr Van Houten about it she fixed the issue and had someone from the office call me to fix it

I appreciated the high quality care from Dr. Van Houten. For continued pregnancy concerns/questions, I will contact this office because of my positive experience yesterday. The front desk team and nurse were also professional, helpful and kind.
