After growing up in the south west corner of France, Nathalie moved to Canada at the age of 17 to start her university studies (BS and MS in biology) followed by medical school. She then completed her residency in Internal Medicine and Intensive Care in Montreal. After finishing her training, she lived for 2 years in Saipan (Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands) with her family where she gained invaluable experience as a US board certified internist. After 2 years on this tropical Island, she embarked on a 15 months journey around the world with her husband and their 2 children. They eventually settled in Dunedin, New Zealand where she taught at the University of Otago School of Medicine. She also practiced medicine and obtained her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (a highly regarded qualification which follows an extended and rigorous training). She eventually became involved in research, designing a clinical trial in cardiology, genetics and human nutrition, investigating the effect of selenium deficiency on coronary artery disease in the context of gene-environment interactions. She moved to Australia with her growing family (now 3 children!) in 2006. She worked as an internist and lead the implementation of a diabetic clinic at Ipswich Hospital and including an indigenous community based service. She then became the Director of Physician Education and the Director of Internal Medicine at Mater Hospital, a major university hospital in Brisbane. At Mater Hospital, she implemented an innovative Peri-operative Medicine service which quickly became recognized Australia-wide for its excellent clinical outcomes. Her next project was the development of a sucessful telemedicine program serving the needs of rural and remote populations of Queensland, Torres Straight Islands and Northern Territory. This was made possible through the obtention of a competitive Australian federal grant. She moved to Portland with her family in 2015 and is now working as an internist while her husband teaches International Relations at Portland State University.

Patient Ratings and Comments

Legacy wants every patient to have great care, every time. To help measure and improve patient satisfaction, we send surveys to randomly selected patients after their appointments. We use this feedback from the surveys to improve and enhance the care we offer. It works like this: Real patients give us feedback through Press Ganey, a patient satisfaction survey company. They verify and confirm the results. National Research Corporation, an independent company, provides the technology to show the ratings and comments on our website
