Interventional Radiology

Legacy's interventional radiologists are leaders in the field of interventional radiology, in which minimally-invasive treatments use the images from CT, fluoroscopy, rotational x-ray, ultrasound or MRI. These images help the interventional radiologist guide catheters, wires, balloons and stents to the targeted place inside the body.

Interventional radiology is playing an increasingly significant role in cancer treatment, replacing more invasive traditional methods and making it possible to treat previously untreatable conditions. Many interventional radiology procedures can be performed on an outpatient basis or during a short hospital stay.
