Healing takes many forms. One of those is using plants and gardening to help patients of all ages recover.
The use of gardens in health care is called horticulture therapy. Research shows that gardens in healing settings provide many benefits, often helping patients to leave the hospital faster, take less pain medication and suffer fewer complications.
A peaceful garden is also helpful to families, visitors and hospital staff.
A national leader
Legacy Health is a leader in horticultural therapy. We feature Healing Gardens across our campuses to offer therapy, a peaceful setting and gathering places for events and community walks. Several of our gardens have won national awards for their healing design. We also have a Horticultural Therapy Certificate Program for medical professionals.
