PGY1 residents at Legacy Health will have the opportunity to gain experience in diverse clinical practice areas including adult internal medicine, critical care and/or trauma, ambulatory care and pediatrics. In addition, the resident has the option to rotate through specialty practice areas of neonatal intensive care, adult and pediatric oncology/bone marrow transplant, emergency medicine, infectious disease, anticoagulation, kidney transplant, and informatics. Longitudinal and non-clinical experiences include administration, leadership, and medication safety. Residents have the opportunity to pursue a teaching certificate through a program co-sponsored by the two local colleges of pharmacy
Legacy's PGY1 is an ASHP accredited one-year, post-graduate program. Four annual PGY1 positions are available. The program is individualized to allow each resident to pursue additional experience in areas of practice interest and to provide learning experiences that prepare a pharmacist for PGY2 training or a clinical position in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
Applications are accepted via the online PhORCAS system and are due by Jan. 2 each year.
