ANA ELISA SCREEN REFLEX CASCADE
ANA - ANA ELISA Reflex - Antinuclear Antibody
Anti-Nuclear Antibody (ANA) ELISA Screen with Reflex to IFA Titer and Pattern, dsDNA and ENA (RNP, Smith, SSA, SSB, Scl 70, Jo 1 Ab)
ANA specimens are screened using an ELISA assay. All specimens that screen positive or equivocal are confirmed using HEp-2 cells, and if positive, the titer and pattern will be reported. Positive IFA will reflex to dsDNA and ENA.
Specimen Collection Requirements
Allow blood to clot for 30 minutes. Centrifuge and separate serum from cells immediately. Pour serum into plastic tube.
Plasma and other body fluids; severely lipemic or bacterially contaminated specimens.
COLLECTION TO INITIATION OF TESTING AFTER SEPARATION FROM CELLS: Ambient: 8 hours; refrigerated: 48 hours
Refrigerated. Freeze if transport requires longer than 48 hours.
Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA), Indirect Fluorescent Antibody, RIA-Farr, multiplex flow immunoassay
Negative (ANA ELISA); see individual analytes
86038 ANA; if reflexed, add 86039 ANA titer, 86225 dsDNA, 86235 x6 ENA
