Patients with suspected connective tissue disease might have Antinuclear Antibodies. Disease association may include Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Sjogren’s Syndrome, Mixed Connective Tissue Disease and Scleroderma.
Specimen Collection Requirements
Serum, one gold (SST) top tube
Allow blood tube to sit for 30 minutes to clot. Centrifuge and separate serum from cells immediately. Pour serum into a plastic tube. If multiple tests are requested, please submit in separate transport tube.
Plasma, serum with a high degree of hemolysis, lipemia or microbial growth
Refrigerated: 48 hours; Frozen -20°C for longer storage
