Guidelines

This is a general culture for a variety of genital sources that includes yeast, beta hemolytic streptococcus, staphylococcus and Gardnerella. Does not include mycoplasma, ureaplasma, viral or chlamydia detection. These must be ordered separately. For GC and Chlamydia; PCR is recommended. For prenatal Group B Strep; Strep Screen is recommended. For vaginosis/vaginitis; Affirm VP, Trichomonas Antigen, or Wet Mount are recommended. Also available, GC Culture. Specific order is available for amniotic fluid or aspirate for culture.
