Specimen Collection Requirements

Collect

Serum or Plasma, one 7 mL red, 4 mL dark green (sodium heparin), or 4 mL lavender (EDTA) top tube. SST and PST tubes are NOT recommended.

Test can also be performed on whole blood or urine if necessary.

Handling

Allow serum to clot completely at room temperature (minimum: 30 minutes). Centrifuge and separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP.

1 mL Serum, Plasma or Urine

Minimum Volume

0.5 mL Serum/Plasma (1.5 mL minimum whole blood draw)
