Specimen Collection Requirements

Collect

Serum or Plasma, one 5.0 mL gold (SST), 7.0 mL red, 3.0 mL mint green (lithium heparin, PST) or 5.0 mL lavender (EDTA) top tube Also acceptable: pediatric serum microtainer or pediatric heparinized plasma microtainer.

Recommended collection time: Prior to the next dose.

Handling

Specify time of last dose. Allow serum to clot completely at room temperature (minimum: 30 minutes). Centrifuge and separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP.
