Primarily used when heparin induced thrombocytopenia is suspected. Positive HIT Screening test will be referred to a reference laboratory for confirmation

Serum, one red (non-SST) top tube

Handling

Remove serum from cells within 2 hours

FROZEN SPECIMEN Heparinized, hemolyzed, icteric, lipemic, serum collected in SST tube
