Serum, one gold (SST) top tube, also acceptable Plasma, green (sodium heparin) or lavender (EDTA) top tube

Handling

Separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP.

Hemolyzed or lipemic specimens, specimens containing particulate material or obvious microbial contamination, ambient specimens
