Patient Instructions for Collecting a Pinworm Sample. After collection, replace Swube paddle in tube provided for transport. If using tape, place the sticky side down on a glass microscope slide and place in a screw-top specimen container.
Patient Preparation: Separate the buttocks and press the tacky surface of the Swube or tape to the right and left perianal folds. Best if taken late in the evening, 1-3 hours after patient has retired, or first thing in the morning before bathing. Collect: Swube collection paddle (available from Legacy) or clear tape.
