Specimen Collection Requirements

Preferred: 24-hour Urine, one sterile container, also acceptable: Random Urine

Handling

Collect urine over 24 hours. Refrigerate during collection. Preservatives are not necessary and may interfere. Mix urine well before removing aliquot. Visually turbid urine specimens should be centrifuged before analysis. Record collection time interval and total volume on transport tube and test request form.
