Specimen Collection Requirements
Site-specific: Consult Samaritan Epic Catalog or contact your local laboratory.
Allow serum to clot completely at room temperature (minimum: 30 minutes). Centrifuge and separate serum from cells ASAP. Freeze serum.
Frozen (at or below -20°C)
AFTER SEPARATION FROM CELLS: Ambient (20-25°C): 8 hours, Refrigerated (2-8°C): 4 days; Frozen (at or below -20°C): 24 weeks

Visible hemolysis may cause interference. Samples should be redrawn if possible. Samples with moderate hemolysis (>200 mg/dL) will have falsely elevated results. Grossly lipemic samples are to be airfuged prior to testing.
